A year ago, the Ontario Trillium Foundation gave Kwartzlab a $15,000 capital grant, which we used for tools and other capital expenditures. The tools included some important digital fabrication machines: a Makerbot Replicator 3D printer, a Roland MDX-20 CNC mill, and a 4′x4′ CNC router. It also included some electronics lab equipment and sewing machines.
On Saturday, we are holding a ceremony to thank the Trillium Foundation for helping to make Kwartzlab more awesome. There will be a number of politicians and VIP guests attending. There will be 3 short speeches, a group photo, and we will receive a plaque. We’ll serve hot apple cider, demonstrate the 3D printer, show off our other tools, and give a tour.
It’s a public event, everyone is welcome to attend.
